For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB-Olympiadienst-Link-2.9.72-ma-München: XX. Olympische Sommerspiele-Turnen: Was kaum jemand für möglich gehalten hatte, wurde beim Gerätefinale der Turner am Abend des 1.9.1972 Wirklichkeit: Klaus Köste (DDR), der an insgesamt drei Geräten in den Finalwettbewerben vertreten war, erkämpfte sich im Pferdsprung die olympische Goldmedaille. Der 29jährige Leipziger errang damit den größten Erfolg seiner 18jährigen sportlichen Laufbahn. Hier hat er seinen zweiten Sprung, ein Handstandüberschlag mit ganzer Drehung beendet und damit den Sieg erkämpft. |
