English: The TEE Watteau waiting to depart the Gare de Lille-Flandres (in Lille, France) in March 1989, headed on this day by SNCF locomotive 22215, of Class BB 22200. The clock on the right shows 6:00 p.m., which was only 1–2 minutes before the the Watteau’s scheduled departure time for Paris. At this time, the Watteau was one of only three remaining TEE trains in Europe.

The stock seen here is TEE (Trans Europ Express). Trains were often first class only and usually international routes. However SNCF used the branding on certain prestige services internally in France, often in the mornings and evenings for those travelling on business. Stock was a distinctive stainless steel finish built under license from USA manufacturer, Budd.
