球会生涯
沙利文在2020年进入费城联学习踢球[3]。2024年3月24日，他首次代表球队二队上场，参加MLS Next Pro的联赛[4]，在56分钟换入，并在86分钟时交出一助攻，使球队以2-1取胜[5]。
2024年5月9日，他与费城联签下一份本土球员合约，至2028年，使他成为美职联史上第五年轻签下一线队合约的球员[6]，这合约价值也是美职联史上最昂贵的本土球员合约[7][8]。他和家人向ESPN确认，合约条款中提及当他年满18岁时，就有条件转会至曼城的条款。7月17日，他首次代表费城联在美国职业足球大联盟联赛上场，14岁293天之龄的他成为美职联史上最年轻的球员，以13天之差打破了弗雷迪·阿杜在2004年所创的纪录[9][10]。

个人生活
卡万·沙利文出身自足球世家，是家庭中最年幼的孩子。他父亲布伦丹曾是一名足球员，曾在次级联赛A联赛（相当于今天的美国足球冠军联赛）踢了6年职业足球。卡万的母亲曾在NCAA第一级别踢球[16][17][18]。
卡万的大哥，奎因也是一名足球员，现效力费城联[19]。另外两名哥哥，德克兰（Declan）和罗南（Ronan），也是足球员，目前在YSC学院上学和参加MLS Next比赛[20]。他的表哥克里斯·奥尔布赖特曾代表美国国家男子足球队，并效力过费城联两球季。他祖父拉里·沙利文是一名足球教练，在1991至2007年间执教维拉诺瓦大学足球队[16][21]。他叔叔布赖恩是一名足球守门员，曾效力费城织布（Philadelphia Textile，现为杰弗逊公牛），亦是维拉诺瓦大学队的教练团[22]。
