席格体育中心位于维吉尼亚州首府里奇蒙市区，是属于维吉尼亚联邦大学的校区内的多功能体育活动中心，馆内拥有一个由7,500个座位所组成的椭圆形室内广场，以及一个机能健全的学生健身中心，健身中心的设施包括有一个重量训练室、非比赛用的篮球场地、有氧舞蹈室，以及一间小餐厅。席格体育中心可以举行全美大学运动协会第一区所列的校际竞赛项目，并能成为一般功能性的集会场地，提供一些特殊的集会活动举行，例如毕业典礼、音乐演奏会、欢迎会，以及各式各样的竞赛（不论是体育性或是非体育性的比赛）。

椭圆形室内广场于公元1999年正式启用，这个场地同时也是维吉尼亚联邦大学莱姆斯棒球队的主场地，而该队自从将主场移至席格体育中心后，即成为全国比赛于主场胜率最高的一队。

席格体育中心每年也会举行数场当地或是州内的高中篮球竞技，而由维吉尼亚联邦大学与美国国家航空航天局共同举办的第一届年度地区性机器人大赛也在此举办。
