深水埗公共图书馆 (第一代)

深水埗公共图书馆（英语：Sham Shui Po Public Library ）是香港一间已关闭的公共图书馆。该馆位于九龙深水埗元州街168-174号鸿裕大厦二楼，由香港市政局于1977年8月19日设立，成为深水埗区第一间公共图书馆。随著保安道市政大厦建成，该馆于1988年3月28日关闭，并由保安道公共图书馆取代。

历史

1973年，鉴于深水埗区缺乏公立图书馆，香港市政局图书馆事务委员会建议在计划中的深水埗街市综合大楼设立公共图书馆，不过该馆未能满足区内人口所需，故此提议在苏屋邨学校区一带增设一间公共图书馆[1]。

1976年10月，该委员会同意在深水埗区设立一间面积约500平方英尺的小型图书馆，并预计在1977-78年度启用[2][3]。该馆选址定于深水埗元州街168-174号鸿裕大厦二楼，工程由工务司署负责[4]。翌年8月19日，图书馆正式对外开放，但因为某些原因、开幕典礼延至9月1日举行，由时任市政局议员，图书馆事务委员会副主席何杨展翘主持仪式[5][6][7]。

1984年，市政局同意本图书馆迁至保安道市政大厦，以便增加藏书及新增视听资料图书馆[8]。随著保安道公共图书馆于1987年3月29日启用，本图书馆随即关闭，予以取代[9]。

设施及服务

深水埗公共图书馆楼面面积合共1,214平方米，设有成人图书馆、儿童图书馆、参考图书部、报刊及期刊阅览室、特别活动室及学生自修室[10]。该馆主要服务深水埗区内居民，包括苏屋、长沙湾及石硖尾等，提供图书借阅、专题展览、馆内导赏等服务及活动[11]。

馆藏方面，开馆初期约有25,000本中英图书、18份香港报纸及逾百本中英期刊[11]。直至1981年10月为止，馆内中英藏书已增至41,545本[12]。
