道格拉斯頓-小頸

道格拉斯頓-小頸是美國紐約市皇后區東北部的一個社區。[4][5]該社區位於長島北岸，北臨小頸灣（英語：Little Neck Bay），東與拿騷縣大頸（英語：Great Neck, New York）社區接壤，西面與貝賽（英語：Bayside, Queens）社區以紐約跨島快速路（英語：Cross Island Parkway）為界，南面邊界為大中央快速路。該社區由「道格拉斯頓」和「小頸」兩個地區組成，兩地沒有明確的邊界定義，一般認為Marathon Parkway以東為小頸地區，以西為道格拉斯頓地區。[6][7]

歷史

該地區已知最早的居民為原住民，他們以小頸灣的漁業為生。[8]17世紀，歐洲定居者開始抵達該地區。英國人和荷蘭人先是和平地控制了除Madnan's Neck以外的土地，之後托馬斯·希克斯（Thomas Hicks）帶領着一群武裝定居者強行驅逐了該地的原住民，戰鬥發生在今天Northern Boulevard和Marathon Parkway的交叉口。[9][10]1796年，希克斯的財產傳給了托馬斯·威克斯（Thomas Wickes），之後接着又傳給了懷恩特·范·贊特（Wyant Van Zandt）。范·贊特在該地興建了一座大型希臘復興式豪宅。1835年喬治·道格拉斯（George Douglas）購下了240英畝（0.97 平方公里）的土地及范·贊特的豪宅。道格拉斯頓地區即以喬治·道格拉斯的名字命名。

人口

根據2020年美國人口普查的數據，道格拉斯頓-小頸社區有25,262人。種族為白人40.9%、非裔1.6%、亞裔44.9%、拉美裔9.8%、其它族裔0.6%、兩種及以上2.1%。[1]

郵政

道格拉斯頓-小頸有兩個郵編。其中Northern Boulevard以北的小頸半島使用郵編11363，以南的地區使用郵編11362。[11]

道格拉斯頓-小頸社區和鄰近的貝賽（英語：Bayside, Queens）社區由紐約市警察局第111分局負責巡邏。[22][23]2010年，其在紐約69個巡邏區中按人均犯罪率計排名第8安全。[24] 截至2018年，道格拉斯頓-小頸和貝賽社區的非致命襲擊率為每十萬人中有8起，人均暴力犯罪率是紐約市所有地區中最低的。每10萬人中有110人的入獄率低於全紐約市整體水平。[25]:8如今第111分局巡邏區的犯罪率低於1990年代，所有類別的犯罪率在1990年至2018年期間下降了88.6%。[26]
