梅金島奇襲
梅金島奇襲[1]是1942年8月17-18日間，美國海軍陸戰隊突襲者部隊對梅金島（布塔里塔里環礁）上的日軍部隊發動的·一場突襲。美方目的是摧毀島上的日軍設施，抓捕戰俘，獲取吉爾伯特群島地區情報，轉移日軍注意力，掩護其他部隊在瓜達爾卡納爾島和圖拉吉島的增援登陸行動。最終，美方只達成了上述作戰目標中的第一項，但這場突襲的確提振了士氣。
