生平

羅思出生於紐約，在伊利諾斯州巴林頓長大。[3]母親芭芭拉·羅思是一個畫家，[3][4]她是三個孩子中最小的一個。她五歲時父母離異，母親改嫁給一個金融顧問弗蘭克·羅思[5][3]。她的哥哥和姐姐住在芝加哥地區。[3]她在巴林頓高中畢業後，[6]進入卡爾頓學院，一年後轉到西北大學，[5][7]開始寫作計劃。現與丈夫攝影師納爾遜居住在芝加哥地區。[8]
