酷刑室是專門對犯人施加酷刑的房間。[1][2]中世紀的刑訊室沒有窗戶,通常建在地下,而且刑訊人員點着幾根蠟燭,這樣就能讓犯人感到「恐懼、絕望和害怕」。[3][4][5]

歷史

縱觀歷史,從古羅馬時代開始,當局就把犯人關到酷刑室。中世紀後,也有不少犯人被關到酷刑室。西班牙宗教裁判所倫敦塔裏面也有酷刑室。 [6][7][8]
