2018年5月，索尼影业宣布已开始开发2018年电影《比得兔》的续集[5]。2019年2月，宣布大卫·奥伊罗加盟剧组，而萝丝·拜恩和多姆纳尔·格利森回归出演各自的角色[6]。2019年10月，确认玛格·罗比和伊丽莎白·戴比基回归声演各自的角色[7]。
