Audacity是一款跨平台的音频编辑软件，用于录音和编辑音频，是自由、开放原始码的软件，并根据 GPLv2+ 授权条款分发。可在macOS、Microsoft Windows、Linux和其它操作系统上运作。

简史

Audacity 于 1999 年由 Dominic Mazzoni 和 Roger Dannenberg 在卡内基梅隆大学创建，随后于 2000 年 5 月作为自由软件在 SourceForge.net 上发布。[2]

Audacity在2004年7月获选为SourceForge当月最佳推荐项目[3]，2007年7月选多媒体类的SourceForge.net 2007社群选择大奖[4]。2008 年 5 月，Audacity 被列入《PC World》杂志美国版读者和编辑选出的年度最佳产品100强列表。

2021年4月30日，Audacity被Muse Group收购。[5]

2021 年 7 月，Audacity 更新了其隐私政策，其中包含一个条款，允许 Muse Group 收集“法律遵循、诉讼和相关权威机构所需的数据”。这次更新引发了争议 ，有观点质疑 Audacity 或已转变为间谍软件[6][7]。面对此一争议，Audacity 撤销了其资料共享的决策，并限制了在网络上用于版本检查与错误报告的资料发送。[8]

PC World的Preston Gralla称，“如若你对制作音乐、编辑音乐及混音感兴趣，那你会想要Audacity。”[13]

Tech Republic的Jack Wallen强调了它的特性和易用性。[14]

PC Magazine的Michael Muchmore给其打3.5/5颗星，并说：“尽管不如Adobe、Sony、M-Audio旗下同类产品那样灵巧，但Audacity在免费软件中可说是特性万分全面的了。”[15]

2021年5月，Audacity被Muse Group收购，并且在源始码中加入基于Google Analytics与Yandex.Metrica（英语：Yandex.Metrica）的原始码以回传用户资料，随后引发大量用户的负面批评，迫使Audacity缩限回传资料用于错误回报及版本更新提示。[16][17][18][19]Audacity新的隐私政策将在3.0.3版本生效。[20]

局限

  • 原先仅支持32位VST的功能限制，也在3.1.x之后的版本才能支持32位以及64位VST音频效果插件。[21]
  • 由于专利许可问题，要输入或输出M4A (AAC)、WMA等专有文件格式，需要额外安装的的FFmpeg库。[22]
