常任秘書長 (英國)

常任秘書長（英語：Permanent Under-secretary of State，簡稱：Permanent Secretary）是英國政府、蘇格蘭政府及威爾斯政府的每個部門中，最資深公務員職級。常任秘書長除了負責所屬部門的日常運作及行政管理，亦會擔當部門首長（通常為內閣大臣）的首席顧問[1][2]。

按照現行規定，公務員敍用委員會負責為任何常任秘書長空缺而進行招募及遴選，然後再制定一份合適人選的名單，供英國首相選擇並作出任命[3][4]。
