MC3T3是源自小鼠颅顶成骨细胞前体细胞系[1]。目前已经分离出MC3T3细胞的许多衍生物,以选择不同程度的成骨潜力,并且已被广泛用作研究骨生物学模型系统。有教科书将其子系MC3T3-E1细胞,称为研究着颅骨成骨细胞转录控制的最方便系统之一[2]。这是一种自发转化的及永生化的细胞系,故而是非常方便的研究工具,但是在将这些结论外推到正常细胞或正常人类细胞时,应该要谨慎判断[3][4]
